What types of knee pain can be treated?
Knee pain is extremely common and is caused by a wide range of conditions. An old knee surgery or injury can suddenly start causing severe pain or the pain may develop as a mild discomfort and gradually worsen over a period of years. A medical exam and a review of your imaging will help our doctors determine the type of problem that needs treatment. Patients with knee pain will often have trouble with sleeping, walking, exercise, hobbies or have a feeling of general instability.
Research has shown that treatment with advanced stem cell therapies using Bone Marrow derived stem cells (BMAC), Adipose Derived Stem Cells (ADSC) or Umbilical Cord Cells have been helpful for treating a number of conditions such as Arthritis, Meniscal Tears, Ligament Sprains, Patellar Tendonitis/Tendinosis, Osteochondral (Cartilage) Defects and Patellofemoral Pain (Jumper’s Knee).
How does it work?
Cendant Stem Cell Center‘s regenerative treatments activate stem cells and blood platelets to stimulate healing and speed repair for cartilage, bone, and soft tissue injuries. We all have healing stem cells in our bodies. Primarily found in adipose (fat) tissue and bone marrow, these cells act as repairmen and can regenerate into the type of cell that is needed when injected into an injured area.
The procedure itself involves our highly trained physicians using precision guided ultrasound to perform a needle (trocar) bone marrow aspiration or adipose mini liposuction of your own adult stem cells. They are usually taken from the hip, abdomen or both. The tissues are processed where millions of stem cells are isolated and concentrated in a specialized centrifuge. These stem cells will be injected into the three compartments of the knee joint along with any necessary supporting ligaments and tendons. Cendant Stem Cell procedures will first have an Extracellular Fiber Matrix injected into the knee to provide structure for cartilage and bone growth.
